Understanding White Privilege Pt. 1 | The Basics of Privilege
This is part one of a four-part miniseries about understanding privilege. The goal of these videos is to use simple examples to jump-start an understanding of how privilege works, who it applies to, and what you can do to help even the playing field moving forward. In this video specifically, I use some real-world examples with the help of my friends to illustrate the basics of what privilege is. I also discuss the idea of how privilege and natural ability or talent is slightly different. And lastly, I finish with some ideas about how social constructs that humans have created is in part the reason why there is such a divide when it comes to who is privileged. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
